Can't find a Preferred Plumber in your area? No problem. You can still receive the appropriate MGE incentive as a credit on your natural gas bill.
To receive the bill credit, you must complete the Energy Sense bill credit rebate form and mail it and the receipt(s) for the installation and water heater (if purchased separately) to MGE within 90 days of purchase. The bill credit rebate form requires the resident to verify the unit installed is a natural gas unit, as well as its make, model and to confirm that the unit meets Energy Star criteria. The following bill credits are offered:
Tankless System – $200
Tank – $40
The guidelines to qualify for this incentive are:
Installed water heating appliance must utilize natural gas.
All water heating systems must meet Energy Star criteria to qualify (.62 energy factor for tanks; .82 energy factor for tankless).
Active MGE customer with residential use only. Final bill or inactive accounts are ineligible.
Builders, Developers and Landlords are eligible for residential applications only.
