Becoming a Preferred Professional
Proctor Engineering (company managing the rebate operations for MGE) must receive a signed letter of agreement by the company owner or someone with the company authorized to sign contracts is required. The letter of agreement can be obtained by contacting Proctor Engineering representative Matt Schwarting.
The agreement details the requirements your heating and cooling company must meet to participate in the program. Brief highlights of the requirements include:
Techs register to view the 20-minute online orientation to the free CheckMe service to train to use the service and receive a Tech ID
Must provide a W-9 form and signed Letter of Agreement
This is a password protected resource area for MGE approved Preferred Professionals in home heating.

Benefits for the Preferred Professional:
MGE advertises to the public to utilize a Preferred Professional (at MGE discretion but may include website, bill inserts, brochures, radio, online, etc.)
Free online orientation to the CheckMe service and on-going use

Free marketing materials you can give customers to promote energy efficiency
Brief summary of requirements outlined in the letter of agreement:
Proof of insurance with a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability coverage.
Proof of heating and cooling business license in a Missouri municipality and a copy of your articles of incorporation.
Proof that someone on staff is NATE certified or holds a master mechanic's license.
Provide a working phone number for your Home Heating and Cooling business that customers can call.
Complete a letter of agreement to participate in the program with a signature from the owner (or company official authorized to sign contracts.)
Your company will ensure qualified installs have the Missouri Gas Energy rebate information submitted in order for MGE to reimburse your company for providing the MGE rebate discounted at install. Company is required to reflect discount as a line item on the customer invoice.
Your company will incorporate MGE's Energy Sense program logo and link on your company's website.
Any employee at the customer home that is responsible for checking whether the customer can receive the rebate is required to view the CheckMe service orientation to properly use the service and register.
